Ozan Cakin was born in Turkey but moved to Genk at the age of fourteen, where he grew up and discovered his passion for music. His life journey is anything but ordinary. He has lived in various countries, including Ukraine, Poland, Malawi, the Netherlands, and the United States, seeking inspiration and self-discovery. In the Netherlands, he studied theoretical physics and business economics, attended conservatory classes, and studied industrial engineering in Brussels.

From Depression to Creative Triumph
Ozan’s path to success was not without challenges. In 2010-2011, he struggled with depression, during which he re-evaluated his life and developed a deeper love for film. He began self-studying filmmaking, leading to the production of commercials, music videos, short films, and even a feature film. His French drama ’46XX’ won international awards and marked the start of his creative career.

In 2016, he transitioned to 3D animation, discovering endless creative possibilities. He founded Prime Media Studios, with offices in Genk and New York, expanding from a one-man business to a team of 11 employees and around 20 subcontractors. After closing this company, he moved to Wonderland Architecture.

From Small Parties to Tomorrowland
Under his stage name Kamalèon, Ozan began DJing at small parties, quickly gaining recognition. Soon, he received larger bookings and performed at events like Genk On Stage, Versuz, and Block Events. His first year as a DJ was a huge success, with 73 bookings and a residency on Profound Radio in London. In his second year, he secured even more bookings and was scouted by Tomorrowland, which recognized his unique sound. Last weekend, he performed at Tomorrowland, becoming the most photographed DJ on his stage.

Future Plans and Musical Mission
Ozan is now set to release his first track and album by the end of 2024. His future plans are ambitious and inspiring: he aims to share his love, energy, and passion with the world, achieve international recognition, and tour globally. He already has bookings for the coming year in Macedonia and collaborations with three international bookers.

Ozan is proud to showcase his music to the world as a native of Genk. His musical styles range from Afrohouse, melodic techno, and tech house to dance, and he continually challenges and reinvents himself.
